RIS and BibTeX converter

Press Cite in the toolbar of the editor below and pick your file on the RIS or BibTeX file tab. The entries go into your list, and when you cite them in the text the reference list at the end of the document follows.

Demo before sign-in: kept on this device only

Press Cite in the toolbar and choose your exported file on the RIS or BibTeX file tab.

Which files it reads

RIS (.ris) and BibTeX (.bib) files from Zotero, EndNote and library databases. A file with many entries goes into the list in one step.

Moving between tools

From My list in Cite, download the list as RIS or BibTeX to take it back to Zotero or EndNote. Collect sources in your reference manager and do the citing where you write.

Frequently asked questions

Some fields came in empty.

Values are copied from the file as they are, so anything missing in the source database stays empty. If the work has a DOI, add it again with Find by DOI or title to fill in the registered details.

Is the file uploaded?

No. It is read in this browser. In a signed-in document the list is saved with that document.
