Formatting and fonts

Formatting is reachable three ways: markdown shortcuts that keep your hands on the keys, slash commands on an empty line, and the toolbar and bubble menu described here.

Text marks

  • Bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and inline code toggle from the toolbar. Selecting text raises a bubble menu with the same marks one tap away.
  • Frequent marks are fastest by shortcut; the keyboard shortcuts page lists them all.

Fonts, text color, highlight

  • The font button offers nine choices including the default: Inter, Georgia, Times New Roman, Palatino, Trebuchet MS, Verdana, JetBrains Mono and Courier New. It applies to the selection only.
  • Text color and highlight pick from a palette; the first swatch, None, restores the original.

Blocks and alignment

  • The block dropdown switches between body text and headings 1 to 4. Buttons for the three lists (bullet, ordered, checklist), quote, code block, divider and table sit alongside.
  • In a table, click a cell and type. Tab moves to the next cell, Enter to the cell below. Hover the table for add and delete buttons for rows and columns, plus a header row toggle.
  • Alignment has three buttons: left, center and right, applied to the block under the cursor.

Links and attachments

  • The link button opens a URL row; the link applies to the selected text.
  • Image, video and file attachments are part of the Plus plan. Images go in by upload or URL, videos by link embed.
